whatever hereYānīdha beingsbhūtāni gatheredsamāgatāni,
on the groundBhummāni or whichyāni orva in the skyantalikkhe;
all indeedSabbeva beingsbhūtā of happy heartsumanā may bebhavantu,
and alsoAthopi carefullysakkacca may listensuṇantu what is saidbhāsitaṁ.

thereforeTasmā indeedhi beingsbhūtā pay heednisāmetha allsabbe,
loving-kindnessMettaṁ havekarotha humanmānusiyā for peoplepajāya;
by dayDivā andca by nightratto andca bringharanti whoye offeringsbaliṁ,
thereforeTasmā indeedhi themne protectrakkhatha diligentlyappamattā.

whateverYaṁ anykiñci wealthvittaṁ hereidha or in the next worldhuraṁ orvā,
in the heavensSaggesu or whateveryaṁ gemratanaṁ sublimepaṇītaṁ;
notNa for usno equalsamaṁ there isatthi to the Realized Onetathāgatena,
and thisIdampi in the Buddhabuddhe gemratanaṁ sublimepaṇītaṁ;
by thisEtena truthsaccena well-beingsuvatthi may it behotu.

endingKhayaṁ dispassionvirāgaṁ the undyingamataṁ sublimepaṇītaṁ,
which he attainedYadajjhagā the Sakyan Sagesakyamunī immersed in samādhisamāhito;
notNa with thattena with Dhammadhammena there is equalsamatthi anythingkiñci,
this tooIdampi in the Dhammadhamme gemratanaṁ sublimepaṇītaṁ;
by thisEtena by truthsaccena may there be well-beingsuvatthi may it behotu.

whichYaṁ the highest Buddhabuddhaseṭṭho praisedparivaṇṇayī puritysuciṁ,
is said to be the immersion with immediate fruitSamādhimānantarikaññamāhu;

leading to extinguishmentNibbānagāmiṁ ultimateparamaṁ for benefithitāya;

are extinguishedNibbanti attentive onesdhīrā like thisyathāyaṁ lamppadīpo;
