here, AnuruddhasIdhānuruddhā, a nunbhikkhunī hearssuṇāti:
named so-and-so‘itthannāmā a nunbhikkhunī has passed awaykālaṅkatā;
shesā by the Blessed Onebhagavatā was declaredbyākatā—
of the fivepañcannaṁ lowerorambhāgiyānaṁ fetterssaṁyojanānaṁ with the endingparikkhayā spontaneously rebornopapātikā theretattha one who attains final nibbānaparinibbāyinī not liable to returnanāvattidhammā from thattasmā worldlokā’ti.
sheSā indeedkho but for herpanassā sisterbhaginī for herselfsāmaṁ seendiṭṭhā orvā ishoti heard from anotheranussavassutā orvā:
of such ethics‘evaṁsīlā thatsā sisterbhaginī wasahosi itipiitipi, of such qualitiesevaṁdhammā …pe……pe… of such wisdomevaṁpaññā …… of such meditationevaṁvihārinī …… of such freedomevaṁvimuttā thatsā sisterbhaginī wasahosi itipiitipī’ti.

of the fivepañcannaṁ lowerorambhāgiyānaṁ of fetterssaṁyojanānaṁ by the endingparikkhayā spontaneously rebornopapātiko theretattha will become extinguishedparinibbāyī not liable to returnanāvattidhammo from thattasmā worldlokā’ti.

of threetiṇṇaṁ of fetterssaṁyojanānaṁ by the endingparikkhayā of greed, hate, and delusionrāgadosamohānaṁ by the weakeningtanuttā a once-returnersakadāgāmī once onlysakideva thisimaṁ worldlokaṁ having come backāgantvā an end of sufferingdukkhassantaṁ he will make'.karissatī’ti.

HeSo of thattassa faithsaddhañca ethicssīlañca learningsutañca generositycāgañca wisdompaññañca recollectinganussaranto to that endtadatthāya mindcittaṁ appliesupasaṁharati.

shesā by the Buddhabhagavatā declared—byākatā—
of the fivepañcannaṁ lowerorambhāgiyānaṁ fetterssaṁyojanānaṁ with the endingparikkhayā spontaneously rebornopapātikā theretattha one who becomes extinguishedparinibbāyinī not liable to returnanāvattidhammā from thattasmā world.'lokā’ti.

thusIti indeedkho, Anuruddhasanuruddhā, the Realized Onetathāgato notna for the sake of fawningjanakuhanatthaṁ notna for the sake of flatteringjanalapanatthaṁ notna for the sake of possessions, honor, or popularitylābhasakkārasilokānisaṁsatthaṁ notna quotation marker‘iti memaṁ peoplejano let them knowjānātū’ti disciplessāvake who have passed awayabbhatīte who have diedkālaṅkate in rebirthsupapattīsu declaresbyākaroti:
this one‘asu thereamutra rebornupapanno, that oneasu thereamutra rebornupapanno’ti.
there areSanti andca indeedkho, Anuruddhasanuruddhā, gentlemenkulaputtā of faithsaddhā full of joyuḷāravedā full of gladnessuḷārapāmojjā.
theyTe thattaṁ having heardsutvā to that endtadatthāya their mindscittaṁ they applyupasaṁharanti.
for themTesaṁ thattaṁ, Anuruddhasanuruddhā, ishoti for a long timedīgharattaṁ for welfarehitāya for happinesssukhāyā”ti.
this he saidIdamavoca the Blessed Onebhagavā.
satisfiedAttamano Venerableāyasmā Anuruddhaanuruddho of the Blessed Onebhagavato speechbhāsitaṁ approvedabhinandīti.
