overcome by contactPhassapareto diseaserogaṁ speaksvadati as selfattato;
by whateverYena whateveryena indeedhi imaginesmaññati,
from thatTato ittaṁ ishoti otherwiseaññathā.

becoming otherwiseAññathābhāvī attached to existencebhavasatto worldloko,
overcome by existenceBhavapareto takes pleasure only in existencebhavamevābhinandati;
what one delights inYadabhinandati thattaṁ fearbhayaṁ,
of whichYassa one fearsbhāyati thattaṁ sufferingdukkhaṁ;
for the abandoning of existenceBhavavippahānāya indeedkho,
thisPanidaṁ spiritual lifebrahmacariyaṁ is livedvussati.

whoever‘Ye indeedhi anykeci asceticssamaṇā or brahminsbrāhmaṇā or through continued existencebhavena from continued existencebhavassa say one is freedvippamokkhamāhaṁsu, allsabbe thosete not freedavippamuttā from continued existencebhavasmā’ti I sayvadāmi.
whoever‘Ye or againpana anykeci asceticssamaṇā or brahminsbrāhmaṇā or through nonexistencevibhavena from existencebhavassa say there is escapenissaraṇamāhaṁsu, allsabbe thosete not escapedanissaṭā from existencebhavasmā’ti I sayvadāmi.

thus thisEvametaṁ as it really isyathābhūtaṁ,
with right wisdomSammappaññāya for one seeingpassato;
craving for continued existenceBhavataṇhā is given uppahīyati,
nonexistenceVibhavaṁ does not delight innābhinandati;
utterlySabbaso of cravingstaṇhānaṁ from endingkhayā,
fading away and cessation, no residue left behindAsesavirāganirodho nibbānanibbānaṁ.

for thatTassa extinguishednibbutassa mendicantbhikkhuno,
by not graspingAnupādā further existencepunabbhavo nona there ishoti;
defeatedAbhibhūto Māramāro victorious in battlevijitasaṅgāmo,
has gone beyondUpaccagā all states of existencesabbabhavāni such a onetādī”ti.
