masc nom sg of amu (pron); fem nom sg of amu (pron)
Etymology. Demonstrative pronoun from Proto-Indo-European *o-mo- (that one, yonder), related to Sanskrit amas and Latin omnis (all, derived from the same demonstrative stem). The m-stem is characteristic of Indo-European pronouns. Pali amu/asu shows variation between the full stem amu and the shortened form asu, both pointing back to the same pronominal root.
