Built from

Etymology. From √jiguccha (√juc to desire to avoid, shun), with intensive reduplication ji- applied to the root. The root juc means 'to shun, avoid' and carries the sense of turning away in aversion; cognate with Sanskrit juc-, which likewise expresses shrinking or withdrawal. The intensive force of reduplication intensifies the emotional response from mere avoidance to active disgust or loathing.
