interrogative adverb (locative)
Etymology. From the pronominal stem ku- (what, which) + locative ending -hiṁ. The stem ku- is cognate with English 'who' and Latin 'quī' (both from PIE *kwo-). The suffix -hiṁ is the locative case ending for pronouns.
