labhati

Etymology. Root labh- (to seize, take); cognate with Sanskrit labh-, Greek λαμβάνω (lambanō). In Buddhist usage, frequently applied to attaining states, conditions, and fruits of practice: labhati nirvāṇaṃ (attains nirvana), labhati samādhiṃ (attains concentration).
