1st loc sg of ahaṃ (pron)
Etymology. From Proto-Indo-European *eg'h₂ 'I'. Cognates: English I, Latin ego, Greek egō (ἐγώ), Sanskrit aham. The locative singular mayi shows the ancient athematic inflection of this pronoun, preserving an Indo-European pattern of suppletive stems (different roots for different cases).
