3rd person singular present indicative
Analysis. muna + iti: the auxiliary iti "thus, so" appended to the root mun- in present-stem form; forms a periphrastic or emphatic present.
Etymology. √mun- "to be silent, think, know" is related to Sanskrit mun- (in munisand other derivatives) and ultimately to the Indo-European root *men- "to think, mind" (English mind, mental; Latin mens; Greek menos). The sense evolved from the concrete image of internal stillness and focused thought to knowledge gained through silent contemplation.
