nt acc pl of naṅguṭṭha (noun); nt loc sg of naṅguṭṭha (noun)
Etymology. Uncertain. May be a Dravidian borrowing; possibly related to Sanskrit nakra 'crocodile' if the word originally denoted a reptilian tail. The nasal prefix na- and the geminate -ṭṭ- suggest an ancient formation, but the origin is obscure.
