Built from

Etymology. su- 'well, good' + √kha (to fit, be suitable); corresponds to Sanskrit sukha. The prefix su- is the same Indo-European root as Greek eu- (eulogy, euphemism). Originally the concrete sense 'well-fitted, easy to move in', became the abstract sense of comfort and ease. In Buddhist doctrine, sukha is the conditioned pleasure of sense-desire and material existence, distinguished from the unconditioned ease (sukha) of nibbāna.
