Etymology. From su- 'well, good' (cognate with Greek εὖ eu-, from PIE *su- 'good') + kha, an old word for space or cavity (related to Sanskrit kha, seen also in ākāsa 'space'). The literal sense is 'good space' or 'well-placed', hence ease and comfort as the opposite of constraint.
