masc nom sg of sumedha (adj); masc nom sg of sumedha (noun)
Etymology. su- (well, good) + medha (wisdom, mental faculty). Medha is cognate with Sanskrit medha and derives from the Indo-European root *med- "to measure, think" (English "meditate", "medicine"). The compound forms a possessive karmadhāraya: "one who has good wisdom". Su- itself derives from Indo-European *su- (Greek eu-, Latin sub-), the same root underlying English "super" in its original positive sense.
