Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:

This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

“Dvīhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato puggalo yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge. Katamehi dvīhi? Bhaddakena ca sīlena, bhaddikāya ca diṭṭhiyā. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, dvīhi dhammehi samannāgato puggalo yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge”ti. Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:

“Mendicants, an individual with two qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there. What two? Excellent conduct and excellent view. An individual with these two qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.” The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:

“Bhaddakena ca sīlena, bhaddikāya ca diṭṭhiyā; Etehi dvīhi dhammehi, yo samannāgato naro; Kāyassa bhedā sappañño, saggaṁ so upapajjatī”ti.

“If a person possesses these two qualities— excellent conduct and excellent views— when their body breaks up, that wise person is reborn in heaven.”

Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti. Chaṭṭhaṁ.

This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
