why don't IYannūnāhaṁ whereyena the peacocks' feeding groundmoranivāpo the wanderers' monasteryparibbājakārāmo whereyena Sakuludāyīsakuludāyī the wandererparibbājako I should approach him theretenupasaṅkameyyan”ti.

be quiet“appasaddā good fellowsbhonto let behontu;
do notmā good fellowsbhonto make a soundsaddamakattha.
thisAyaṁ asceticsamaṇo Gotamagotamo comesāgacchati;
likes quietappasaddakāmo indeedkho thenpana heso venerableāyasmā of quietappasaddassa praisingvaṇṇavādī.
hopefullyAppeva indeednāma quietappasaddaṁ assemblyparisaṁ having knownviditvā to be approachedupasaṅkamitabbaṁ might thinkmaññeyyā”ti.
thenAtha indeedkho thosete wanderersparibbājakā silenttuṇhī becameahesuṁ.

thenAtha indeedkho the Blessed Onebhagavā by whichyena Sakuludāyīsakuludāyī the wandererparibbājako approached himtenupasaṅkami.
thenAtha indeedkho Sakuludāyīsakuludāyī the wandererparibbājako to the Blessed Onebhagavantaṁ said thisetadavoca:
let him come“etu indeedkho, sirbhante, the Blessed Onebhagavā.
welcomeSvāgataṁ, sirbhante, of the Blessed Onebhagavato.
for a long timeCirassaṁ indeedkho, sirbhante, the Blessed Onebhagavā thisimaṁ took the opportunitypariyāyamakāsi namelyyadidaṁ for coming hereidhāgamanāya.
let him sitNisīdatu, sirbhante, the Blessed Onebhagavā;
this seatidamāsanaṁ is readypaññattan”ti.
he satNisīdi the Blessed Onebhagavā on the preparedpaññatte seatāsane.
Sakuludāyī alsoSakuludāyīpi indeedkho the wandererparibbājako a certainaññataraṁ lownīcaṁ seatāsanaṁ having takengahetvā to one sideekamantaṁ he satnisīdi.

by what“Kāya nownuttha, Udāyīudāyi, nowetarahi by talkkathāya sitting togethersannisinnā, whatkā andca thenpana yourvo intervening talkantarākathā left unfinishedvippakatā”ti?

let it stand“Tiṭṭhatesā, sirbhante, talkkathā by whichyāya wemayaṁ nowetarahi with talkkathāya sitting togethersannisinnā.
this is notNesā, sirbhante, talkkathā for the Blessed Onebhagavato hard to obtaindullabhā will bebhavissati afterwards toopacchāpi for hearingsavanāya.

this‘ayaṁ indeedkho Pūraṇapūraṇo Kassapakassapo with an ordersaṅghī andceva with a communitygaṇī andca community teachergaṇācariyo andca well-knownñāto famousyasassī religious foundertitthakaro deemed holysādhusammato by many peoplebahujanassa;
heso andca indeedkho by disciplessāvakānaṁ notna honoredsakkato notna respectedgarukato notna reveredmānito notna veneratedpūjito, notna andca thenpana Pūraṇapūraṇaṁ Kassapakassapaṁ disciplessāvakā having honoredsakkatvā respectgaruṁ having madekatvā relying onupanissāya do not remainviharanti.
