pr 3rd pl of ācikkhati (verb)
Etymology. ā- (toward, up to) + √cikkh- (see, know): "reveals to" or "makes known to". The prefix ā- reverses the direction of the root's basic sense. √cikkh- is cognate with Sanskrit cikṣ-, Latin scire (know) via the shared Indo-European root *skew- (see, perceive); English "shire" and German "schieren" (to arrange visibly) share this ancestry.
