opt 3rd sg of ārādheti (verb)
Analysis. ā (toward) + rādheti (succeeds, accomplishes); literally 'accomplishes toward (a goal)', hence gains, obtains, or wins over (someone).
Etymology. Root √radh- (to succeed, accomplish, prosper), cognate with Sanskrit radhnoti and the Indo-European family of 'arrangement, order' (Greek rhuthmos, German Rad 'wheel, order'). The prefix ā- reverses the verb's motion, turning inward accomplishment into attainment-toward-oneself: to draw success toward oneself, to win or obtain.
